NAME, how does $25 Cashback Bonus® sound?

Get $25 Cashback Bonus® after you add an Authorized User and make a purchase by 09/22/2021. Only purchases made after the Authorized User is added will count towards the offer. Offer is limited to one Authorized User $25 Cashback Bonus® promotion per account. Once promotion details are met, cash back will be credited to your account within three billing cycles.

Primary account holder is responsible for all charges made by the Authorized User(s). Discover reports the account credit history to the three major credit bureaus as to you and the Authorized User. Man.... now I feel shortchanged! Maybe I should hold out for better. Either of you have AUs already on your cards? Do you use it much? Maybe we can figure out the trigger?

i actually have an AU, which i deleted and readded. we shall see if this triggers the credit. if not, no biggie. Not sure if the transaction to trigger needs to be on the primary or AU card, so will do a small transaction on each to be sure. I only use discover primarily if it has a good 5% cash back category, like right now im using it since paypal is one of the bonus categories, otherwise my primary card is within the chase ecosystem.

isn't your primary use number the same as your AU user number? It is in mine...

Back in the day you used to be able to add your dog or imaginary friend as an authorized user. Still possible or real person SSN needed?

I was wondering the same.... I assume you still don't have to put personal info as that person isn't responsible for the charges?

I got the same email but with no cash offer. Just that I would earn rewards faster. Whatever that means.

I was wondering the same also.
I looked it up on the Discover Card site and saw that they do require a DoB and a SSN# for any AU.
So apparently our cats, doggies, and pet turtles, and imaginary friends are a no-go.

A copy/paste of their policy:
What information is needed in order to add an Authorized User to an account?
"It is our practice to verify the identity of all users of a Discover card account. To do so, we require the primary cardholder to provide the first and last name, address, date of birth and social security number for all Authorized Users added to their Discover card account."
