Latter. Imagine have a good time at beautiful pools and an upscale restaurants without small children running around. Not saying there shouldn't be nice places for kids, but there should also be nice places for those that don't want to be around them.

Food here isn't great unless you stay at the attached Ocean Point, which are nicer rooms and adds an upscale-ish restaurant (we had EVERY meal there, the menu changes daily). It's adults only.

Ok property (I toured it and passed), but not on the beach. We really like the Atrium Beach Hotel.

Does the island or hotel has the COVID testing facility prior to departing from there?

Thanks for posting this valuable, secret info. I've noticed OP posts many of these deals and doesn't disclose these additionals..
That's because she's staff and these are essentially paid ads. It's to their advantage to disclose as little 'negativity' as possible. For what it's worth, though, ANY all-inclusive Caribbean resort is going to have additional resort fees like that.

This place is travel high risk for covid. Avoid for the time being.

What's the flight price though? $2k?
I checked Google Flights and for two round trip tickets it's anywhere from $900 or so to $1700 between November and April, with somewhere around $1200 looking to be the average. Again, that's the cost for two, not per ticket.

**EDIT** Looks like there are some much better deals in September in the $500-700 neighborhood. That *is* hurricane season, though.

Is there anyone who can explain about the plants, geology, all the science stuff? I want to know about the plants and animals. Island biodiversity is amazing!
Yes, absolutely contact them as they are very knowledgeable and know everything/place on the island.
I have a few pics here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/125...@N03/page3 scroll down towards bottom for St M.

Can't speak for this particular hotel, but there are various places throughout the Dutch side that offer covid tests. Was there a month ago, tests ranged from $50-$80.

I would absolute love to get this opportunity; however, the reviews for this location over the past couple of months show issue with the attitude of the staff, many of the restaurants being closed, incredibly slow service when getting checked in, and an incredibly limited menu for the lunch and dinner hours. Please read the reviews on the Orbitz and Kayak website for this "resort".

I would pass on all exclusive hotel packages with meals included as St M (or most anywhere) has many excellent restaurants. I did one all inclusive many years ago and it's not anywhere as good as local cuisine. YMMV.

I didn't stay on this property but I did go to St Maarten last November (strict covid time) for my honeymoon. Flights were 5-600 each (ohio>Miami>SXM). I preferred the French side for food and also prettier beaches. Philipsburg is where all the cruise ships park so that can be unsightly. We stayed at AIR bnbs and they were great and cheaper than all inclusives. All of the locals were super nice. Its a tourism based island so they were very happy we came. I will say the covid test process then was difficult to time everything just right, so check their rules before hand. Activities include, great beaches, huge zipline from highest point, great scuba diving at SABA (so i was told), short boat or flight to many other islands like Anguilla, St Barths etc. In November we were not allowed to sleep on the French side, but we could visit during the day. It may not be like that now, but FYI. Also, no one was checking any of this, but that was the rule at the time.

Pro-tip- (for Bourbon drinkers) Go to the liquor store in Philipsburg that has the 'Blantons' sign out front. They have like 5 kinds of blantons all in stock, Pappy Van Winkle, and one other Bourbon that was 10K. You cant find these very often in the US, some versions of Blantons they had they don't even sell in the US. We brought home 7 bottles in our checked bag, for friends and Bourbon lovers we know, and everyone was very appreciative!

We loved it there, I would go back for sure.

Stay away from Sonesta. We stayed there in summer 2019 when they just reopened. Some restaurants ran out of food. What a joke!

That's a long way to fly for only 3 nights. It's a nice island, but minimum stay should be a week. Never rent a car there, there is basically 1 main road around the island. Not only do you not know where your going. There is absolutely no parking to be found. Take the local transportation vans for a dollar or two, they go everywhere you need to go. We hopped vans around the entire island for $6. The drivers are super helpful and very friendly. When anyone comes on the van for a ride, all of the local/passengers say hello.
