Your 'logic' on basing the quality & taste of DD coffee on number of franchises is no different than saying McDonalds has the ultimate quality & flavor in its hamburgers.

Once I started grinding my own Lavazza I realized how atrociously awful nearly all the others were. But especially brands like DD.vomit

For pods or ground coffee DD is only marginally better than store brands. For flavored "coffee" like this it's exactly the same or maybe even worse. Every other week CVS DD pods or bags for $4.99 so that's what I consider full price. If I have xtrabucks I'll often grab some DD dark pods when they are on sale to begin with. Those are decent to my taste buds.

My go-to is Chock Full ' Nuts. Shoprite often has great digital coupons which keep me well supplied at a reasonable price which is usually about half price.

Funny I agree with you I purchased the Philips 3200 machine in the other deal . I have had the keurig. Nespresso and now the Philips with the Lavazza . The difference in the coffee is night and day . Each a step up and I not a coffee snob . Just never knew there was such a difference. Now I have no first hand knowledge with DD coffee but always willing to try it . Thanks OP picked up a bag

Coffee is a personal choice in taste. Some like it bitter, some like it bland, some like it blonde.

my first experience with starbucks was my last. i am willing to give everyone a chance, but after many years hunting for an affordable cup of coffee, i have came to a conclusion. it's better just to make it yourself.

Cafe Bustelo mixed with Maxwell House (Original) is the best for the money.

This isn't REAL dunkin. The bags sold in stores like Amazon is generic smucker brand coffee, they just bought dunkin license. If you want the coffee like in stores , it's $9 a bag and at dunkin stores exclusively
Dunkin'
"Manufacturer ‏ : ‎ J.M. Smucker Company"
McCafé:
Manufacturer ‏ : ‎ Kraft Foods

This includes Walmart etc. Starbucks too. The real beans they actually use in store, can only be bought in stores. Starbucks has beans for instore use and a separate batch for the "grocery" store use

Do you have any suggestions of comparable cost or better coffee at a decent price?

My hook up from starbucks quit, so need to start buying beans first time in many many years.
Depends on which Starbucks flavor you like. You can buy most of their flavors online like from Walmart in ground or whole bean. For certain, coffee is going up in price.

Me, I prefer Dunkin' original whole bean that is a noticeable difference over ground. Year in and year out, blends can change by that year's harvested beans, but Dunkin' has been fairly consistent. Target has buy 3 and get 1 free on the 12oz, but just had several 20oz delivered from Walmart. .

I've been impressed with McCafe iced coffee, actually.

It also could be in prep - the benefit of going to a chain should be that you know what you're getting, a "regular" coffee at one DD is the same as the next because the amount of sugar and cream are supposed to be the same (and the coffee itself obviously). McDonald's used to be horrible in that regard, very inconsistent, you'd get one coffee good, the next too sweet (someone else working), the next bitter (maybe different store), but they've improved on that dramatically.

I dunno, never had dunkin before and only tried $tarbucks once. I'm also not into flavored coffee so this might help tone down the flavor and provide some variety. I'm not that fussy, it's more like survival rations and I don't need to shop in store.

Starbucks burns their coffee beans, all coffee flavor is removed and replaced by notes of Charcoal, with undertones of dirt and peat moss.

America need to run from Dunkin'. Take it from someone who is born and raised on it from Massachusetts. Every direction there is another one if just 1 is closed. It's garbage 🗑. Starbucks is over priced! Cafe Nerro is too. Not enough independent coffee shops.
