I know season 1 of the American office basically completely copied this one but season 1 is also the weakest.

The American office basically took a bland recipe and made it taste good. Real good.

Yep it lost steam but still was better than both seasons of the uk show.

Lol fine you don't like it. Both shows are 2 of my favorites of all time. Both different but David Brent is a much more cringey boss than Michael Scott. Jim and Dwight are better than Tim and Gareth, but not by much. Love Dawn but Pam is the best.

Better to be cancelled than go on way too long. The problem with the US version is every episode is like Saturday Night Live: the joke goes on WAYYYYY too long. If the US version was like 10 minute episodes it'd probably be the funniest show ever.

Just to be clear, it wasn't "cancelled". They made the amount of episodes they wanted to, then stopped. By the time series 2 ended it was the most acclaimed thing on british television and won every award going (in the UK and in the US).

It's too bad they didn't stop the American Office after 4 seasons. There's the odd episode that's good after that, such as Scott's Tots, but the rest is lame. I don't understand how people can even watch it.

That's what Office UK is, just cringey. No other characters or storyline has any depth. That's where Office US shines. I don't rewatch S8-9, but S1-7 are simply perfect. Love the show.

And here I am feeling sad thinking the deleted scenes didn't make it to the main episodes.
