If the tool is $179 and you return the battery which is $139, doesn't that make the price $40 instead of $100? Unless I'm missing something...

Edit- The battery is $78, not $139.

From what I'm seeing, I believe HD may be on to the 'hack' and is putting up roadblocks to it.Moments ago I just ordered the grinder for store pickup and the battery for ship to home, but now on the order it shows both items "Ineligible for cancellation" with no option to cancel the battery. They used to allow cancellation of any shipped item for up to 45 minutes after ordering. Now that's gone.
I also tried to return a past 'hack' undesired item last week at my local HD and they had all the info that showed the item was part of a 'combo discounted' promo, so they told me I'd have to return BOTH items for a full refund.

Lol. You did it backwards. They always make the ship to home order ineligible after about 10 or 15 min bc they begin processing and picking the order to ship. Nothing new. Also, of course they know about the hack

Not sure if I'm reading into you're wording too much, but I was told similar. I'd have to "return both items for a full refund." Which is correct, I only got a prorated refund for the item I did return (key word "full")

No, you have it backwards and the ship to home item was labeled "ineligible" 1 minute after I ordered, when I checked the order.
The past hacks they ALWAYS allowed 45 min to cancel ship to home items. It always stated so on the order itself. This isn't my first rodeo on this.
Same with the grinder. That was labelled "ineligible to cancel" too.

Every other I've made in the past 3 years has said ineligible after a few min. I dont think this is a hack specific thing.

Either way, you ship the item you want and do store pickup for the one you don't. The store pickup auto cancels after 7 days or so.

Every order I've made over the past 3 years, and especially the past year, *always* clearly stated that ship to home items can be cancelled up to 45 minutes from time order was placed.
I've cancelled over 5 'hack' ship to home items even 35 minutes after ordering.

HD does change things without ppl knowing.
Now you won't find the "plus 10%" on their price match policy, whereas just 2 months ago it was there.

Weird. Never seen 45 min and it's never given me the option that long.

I have over 5 successful 'hacks' that prove you wrong.
It always worked either way, but only IF you didn't wait too long (over 45 min) to cancel ship to home items.

Just the part where you said they only give 10-15 minutes to cancel ship-to-home items.
I have at least 5 hack items that I cancelled 30 minutes afterward on ship-to-home.
It always used to work out either way as long as you didn't wait over 45 minutes to cancel shipped items. Now apparently HD has recently changed that too.

Add/Edit:
I just looked up the HD ship to home cancellation policy (pic attached).
Apparently the 45 minute after order deadline is still in effect, but not on 'combo promo' items.
That's why I questioned the fact that BOTH the battery (ship to home) and the grinder (store pickup) said "Ineligible for cancellation" on my order immediately after placing the order. The 'promo combo' apparently made them immediately listed as 'ineligible for cancellation' on the online order itself and nixxing the 45 minute allowance.

Seems like wasted time and money going to the store to pick up when HD delivers next day 99% of the time. Order item you want to keep for shipping and don't even bother with the instore item.
