At least they could have added some foam to protect sacs at this price.
It has a dropper post.

Come on, if you guys are going to make snarky comments at least make them good.

Let's just get it out of the way:

"Omg, this should be electric."
"OMG, I could buy a 1990 motorcycle for this!"
"This is way too expensive for a bike"
"I don't understand people that throw money away like this"
"What's the point of this?!"
"It better ride itself for me at this price."

For those wondering the difference between the last one and this one, this is a lighter XC bike with less travel compared to the all mountain version.

It's still a very capable bike, just up to you if you want 120mm of travel compared to something with 150mm.

More suitable for XC and light/medium duty MTB trails. Basically something without huge drops/jumps. If this describes the trails you ride, this bike will work better than the 150mm version due to having more efficient pedaling, and being lighter/more nimble.

Why would you pay this for a non-electric bike? Even electric would be pushing it at this price.
Like any sport, there is equipment available for all levels of interest/competition. Some people pay $200 for the cheap set of golf clubs at Dick's. Some people pay $700 for a shaft for their $500 driver. Then drop another $400 on a putter.

This bike in no way can be compared for something you would buy at Walmart for $200. It is for serious riders.

For people who wonder why this is so expensive and how much value do you actually get.
So I have gone through this myself from "why do I need a bike that cost more than $200" to "I am glad that I got this $3500 bike"

"Why do I need a bike that cost more than $200"

When I started mountain biking about 10 years ago, I bought a typical $169 Walmart bike with disk brake thinking brake is probably the only thing that will get beaten up and I will ride this bike until it fall apart. Well, after 4,5 rides on a entry level trail (green XC trail), the rim bent, the handle bar got loose, the chain drops almost every time I go through rocky section.

"This $1000 bike should last me life time"

After destroying the last bike, I bite the bullet and got a $1000 bike XC bike with air fork. Fast forward 9 years later, I have ridden it like 200+ times. Not a single thing on the bike has broken. However, as I am riding more and more recently, I found myself hitting the some kind of ceiling that I can't ride faster even keep repeating the same trail.

"I am glad that I got this $3500 bike"
On the first trail ride on the Intense trail bike, I can lean the bike much more and quicker to fly through tight and rooty corners, I can climb much easier and go through technical section that I always have trouble. I was 20% quicker in term of time on my first ride that I was still getting used to the bike. Don't ask me how and why there is such big improvement. I can't explain to myself either by just look at the spec.

To be honest, if it wasn't Costco and knowing that I can easily return it, I probably will have never gotten this bike because I wasn't expecting any big improvement until my skill level get to more advance trail and riding. But nope, first ride on XC trail on this bike already blew my mind. Threw away the box for returning right after I got home from the first ride.
