Great price for a feature rich maker. Just hang onto your box as our first one died when it was less than a month old. The screen went black and it became a paperweight. Costco's return policy makes this a great buy.

Agree. Whenever possible, buy your Keurig from Costco and save the box. I went through three of the previous model before giving up and buying a light commercial version.

I have this model and would recommend. I will note that the first one I bought I had to return because it went dead immediately after I plugged it in (wouldn't even brew a cup). When I returned it to Costco, the employee was surprised at what happened and said they rarely see this particular unit returned. I decided to buy another unit and it has been great and I've had no issues.

How hot do you drink your coffee? . Is hot enough enough to do damage to your tongue if you drink it right after it's made.

I have an older, bulky keurig and was thinking to upgrade but feels there are a bunch of different models these days. Looking for one that is more compact but feature rich like doing ice coffee. Is this perhaps one to invest and at this price? Seems like around Holidays keurigs get into the $60-70 range but not sure if those are for more basic models.

For those of you who own this, take a look at the 5 "needles". Only the center one pumps water, the others are just blanks that punch holes. The center needle does have multiple holes, but I really don't know how that would brew differently than the original needle, or if those extra holes punched are just for show.

I have a K1500 and love it, especially for the large 96 ounce reservoir and because I can drain it when I go away on vacation.

IMO the main problem with Keurig coffee machines is that they are too big and plasticky. Even their single serve and compact machines are 2 or 3 times the size they really need to be. For one thing, having a reservoir for something like this is really unnecessary. It's just as easy to fill your mug with cold water each time and tip it into the boiler. Having a reservoir means that you only have to do this every 2 or 3 mugs but at the expense of extra counter space. My advice to people who value their counter space and the money in their wallets is to not buy Keurig machines. Something like this [amazon.com] is smaller, cheaper, and makes the same coffee.

new multiple holes are so easy to clog and have water all over counter and the monitoring thru the K app is just another data mining privacy invasion . for coffee??

If it's just one person drinking one cup a day, I tend to agree with you on size and reservoir. If you have multiple people having coffee or having multiple cups, the reservoir is key.

Yes, you cud just use a drip maker and brew a pot, but if people like different types/brands of coffee or it's consumed throughout the day, a drip maker isn't as convenient since the coffee will burn just sitting around all day while waiting to be consumed.
