IMO the main problem with Keurig coffee machines is that they are too big and plasticky. Even their single serve and compact machines are 2 or 3 times the size they really need to be. For one thing, having a reservoir for something like this is really unnecessary. It's just as easy to fill your mug with cold water each time and tip it into the boiler. Having a reservoir means that you only have to do this every 2 or 3 mugs but at the expense of extra counter space. My advice to people who value their counter space and the money in their wallets is to not buy Keurig machines. Something like this [amazon.com] is smaller, cheaper, and makes the same coffee.

If it's just one person drinking one cup a day, I tend to agree with you on size and reservoir. If you have multiple people having coffee or having multiple cups, the reservoir is key.

Yes, you cud just use a drip maker and brew a pot, but if people like different types/brands of coffee or it's consumed throughout the day, a drip maker isn't as convenient since the coffee will burn just sitting around all day while waiting to be consumed.
