Can you tell me why smart home integration is important, unless I am missing something? Also wouldn't people prefer to physically shut off the alarm, since if it's a false alarm it doesn't matter anyway, but you definitely don't want to miss a true one (unless you also have a camera next to it). Thank you for bringing these points up though :-)

Ill have to read up on this, as a contractor I've seen multiple leaky toilets that when clogged flood houses. So I started my smart home on the basis of a zwave water main shutoff.

I can always go for more sensors but if they are a standalone they arent worth much unless you are home when it happens

Just a FYI. I have Smartthings water sensors, and recently had a toliet overflow. I was notified, but it took 8 minutes to get the water shut off. Still is costing $5K in mitigation and repairs. I wish there was a way to immediately shut off water when these sensors detect something...

There are smart shut off vavles on the market you can weld onto your main.

If you can barely hear the alarm (this device), you could also set something up to flash a light when there's water detected if you have smart home integration. You can also connect to auto shutoff valves. And if it's a very tight spot, you may prefer an alarm that you can shut off without touching the device.

For my situation, I'm already bought into an Amazon Alexa/ Echo/ Ring ecosystem. I have the Ring security system and paid subscription, which integrated with the leak sensors. Getting a phone call from Ring when water is detected is great and convenient. Also, I don't need to check two apps. I'm not saying these are trash, but the Ring sensors have proven themselves. I have mine in the one area of my basements that's prone to flooding, under the toilets and sinks in my bathrooms, sink in the kitchen, next to the hot water heater, and washing machine area.

The sensors connect to the hub (or bridge) and then the hub connects to your router.

I almost purchased this, but it looks like an 8 pack of the Govee from Amazon would be ~$101. Much higher ratings, greater range, louder, waterproof, Amazon easy returns, etc...
I would rather spend the extra $25 for the peace of mind considering the risk of water damage that cost me a ton a year ago.
So... although I came here for this deal, I ended up ordering the Govee based on one of the other poster's comments and some quick research. Dam you, Slickdeals!

Does it work without smartphone, without internet? Anything that relies on the cloud has additional points of failure. I prefer something that also makes noise.

I traveled that path last year and got the Smartthings hub plus one leak sensor. I paid $18 for the Smartthings leak sensor last year from Amazon. It seems they discontinued making the leak sensors - they're going for $50 > $75 on ebay now!
