I need to spend a few grand more on my new Chase Ink Business Card to receive a cash bonus. Will buying these VGCs at Staples still qualify? I've read they might not. Would like an opinion on this from someone that has done this recently.

TIA.

Yes, it's just a purchase for Chase, you can buy anything you want at staples.
When I opened the chase ink cash card I bought a bunch of the visa cards over the first 90 days and used them to pay for insurance bills and anything where it was accepted.

Getting 5% at staples and allowed me to reach the spend requirement.

Getting there slowly too, but liquidation options are drying up without lots of organic spend which itself costs at least 2.25% using the same UR math applicable to these.

Any easy way track annual spend in this category or do I have total across each statement?

Unlike AMEX, Chase doesn't care much about your manufacture spending to meet the minimum spend. I spent $6K on prepaid cards last months to meet the minimum spend on two cards and received all the sign-up bonus this month without a hiccup.

Do you have limit put on your CC? You can check online to see if there are any issue. Most of the time i get a text msg with fraud alret. Simple push just approves it and i can use card right after the decline.

Or Check your account balance, if its little over CR limit it won't allow till you make some payment.

There you go… triggered a fraud alert text/email. Issue resolved.

Frack! I thought it was 10% at office supply stores. Oh well, 5% is better than nothing.

Sadly my Business card came with a very low limit ($3K), making it hard to buy a lot at a time. Even more stupid is even though I make a payment immediately after making a large purchase, my available credit amount does not drop! I currently have a -$2100.00 (credit) balance with $2K in pending purchases - yet I could not buy another $1K in cards today! I had another card that gives 2% back handy (NF Visa w/ $25K limit, about two weeks older than this Chase card), so I still completed the purchase.

I have $3.2K left to spend to get my $750 bonus. I hope I can make this goal exclusively at Staples by EOD Saturday.

Staples has recently had the no fee visa card very often, at least twice a month.
If you still have time you can wait for the next promo.

Worst case scenario you can buy gift cards to restaurants you would typically visit, grocery store gc, or even some gas cards to meet the spend.
It's still 5% since you bought it from staples.

Do you have any other business cards with chase?
If you do you can transfer credit over to this card to make it easier to make the purchases.

This was my first "Business" card (though it is under my SSN, not a biz #). The funny thing is they just increased the limit on my (personal) Costco card to 2.75X what it was previously! But I've read Costco may be dropping Chase, and these increases were to butter up to Costco.

I have till late October, so there is time. I knew Staples was running fee-free sales on both Visa and MC gift cards, but was unsure of the frequency.

Thanks for the feedback!

Well this really sucks ... my recent payments have a hold on them, possibly for a full week, before they will be applied. This is due to the newness of the account. So no more visits to Staples this week. Hopefully the sale will repeat soon. At least I got $3K in this week.
