I love the first game.

I don't vehemently hate the second like the maniacs do, but I didn't enjoy the storyline at all. I guess as a result of that, I was dragging myself to get through it, which felt way, way too long. The cycle of gameplay really wore thin for me by the end.

I get what they were trying to do, but it just didn't work for me. YYMV

The fanbase is clearly very divided. I liked TLOU and I thought TLOU2 was just as good if not better. I bought it for $60 and I'd do it again.

Great game for $20, had to settle in with it. At first I was like damn they ruined this series. After giving it a shot I ended up liking it… not for game play… but rather like watching a good movie. It is a long play through with a ton of just gathering and building up to small boss fights. Scenery is great, I found myself not taking it in and just running the walls of every building waiting for the pickup icon to show. The story line really made me fall for main characters and by the end I wasn't sure who to root for. No need to make a movie about this game because to me that's what I felt I played. Good price

Disgusting game. The Last of Us is one of the best written games within the last 20 years and this game just ruined it. It does not get better. I rented this from Gamefly rather than buy because I saw the reviews and it's easily skippable. I would also consider trying Playstation Now to play this title on PC. Watch out if you stream using Discord, because people reporting issues with PSNow (but my friend uses a nightly version of Discord which might have caused issues).

I love the first game.

Lol, it's not I just thought it was the wrong way to go with the story telling. Most people were expecting the story was going to be a continuation of the last game. I was hoping the second game would answer questions the first game left on the table, but instead it is a story about revenge that I didn't enjoy.

It sounds pretty bad when compared to other Naughty Dog games. I would possibly go through it for $5, but no way am I spending $20 on this.

good price whether or not you will like the game, just keep in mind there is likely going to be a Directors Cut PS5 release of the game later this year and you will probably need to pay $20-30 for it, if its similar to Miles Morales and Ghost of Tsushima. It will have more content - probably the multiplayer faction stuff, maybe a SP dlc - but it won't be free.

if you have a PS4 good deal, if you have a PS5 and haven't played the game yet imo better just to wait.

I'll try this without spoilers. The first game was very white. The second game has a lot of minorities. One character is Asian! The game goes over sexuality. I think it had infidelity? There are a lot of grey that focus on what is really right and wrong.

One example from the first game is Was Joel really "right"? Some people have an idea of what's right and wrong... and the story should make you think. It's great imo. I wasn't a huge fan of the twists, but I will admit that once it got to a certain point I couldn't put the game down. I had to finish the remaining 6hr or something. My friend was in the same boat. Frown Lost sleep.
