They're terrible for large leaf hostas (especially ones that have leaves the lay flat towards the ground). Slugs and snails tear up the leaves, put big holes all over them, and then the plants look awful for the rest of the summer (because they only put out one set of leaves per year).

Yet, this is a terrible way for them to die. I have a few hostas that have really suffered from slugs and snails but I am still hesitant to put this down.

Not a bad price. I bought from lowes almost 8 bucks 1 bag of 2 lbs. This stuff works like a charm. I had snails and slugs in my garden after using it they gone. I use it every 2-3 weeks.
