Tips for longer usage:
1. Use PLASTIC/WOOD spatula
2. Remove leftover rice after your meal, add water to cover the bottom. Simply rinse and wipe the pot on the next day.
3. Never leave rice in the pot overnight
From my mother, proud owner of 1 Tiger rice cooker for more than 25 years
the "problem" is that when these Tiger or Zojirushi rice cookers are made in Japan, they frequently last 10, 15, or even 20 years.... if they don't break down, I have no excuse to buy another new one. I know someone who has a Zojirushi rice cooker that she bought way back in 1990 whey they were stationed in Japan. Still works just fine.(had dinner at her house a couple of months ago and it still made rice just fine)

it's not like a car that I can just park in a questionable neighborhood and leave the keys on the front seat
Here's the exact same model for those who prefer to pay double:

How long does it usually take to cook rice?
Plain rice mode is about 35-40 minutes. I haven't timed it exactly. It also doesn't have a timer to countdown until it reaches 14 minutes or something arbitrary around there.

There is a quick mode but it isn't that much quicker, you maybe save about 10 minutes.

Is this a "fuzzy logic" rice cooker? I have a superficially similar in appearance Panasonic rice cooker Model No. SR-DE103 that has a logo that reads "F Fuzzy" I'm pretty happy with. Was just curious still.

Is this cheaper if you buy it in person? a lot of Costco's items are more expensive online for some reason.

If you use this on a daily basis, the most frequent issue is that the non-stick pot gets scratched, potentially leaching harmful chemical. The problem is, this pot costs a lot. For example, a 3-cup inner pot for Zojirushi is about $55, so some people may decide to get a brand new unit when it's on sale instead.
Ya that's why I keep replacing mine...

Is there a stainless steel inner pot option?
I don't think Tiger have the stainless steal one. I got a Buffalo brand as a gift a few years ago. It's have stainless steal inner pot. But the down side is the rice sticks to the inner pot. At the end you are wasting rices. You just can't get all the rice out.

I've read that Zojirushi is the only rice cooker to buy, anyone know how this one compares to it? I don't have room for another kitchen appliance, I don't have room for another kitchen appliance
Tiger rice cooker been around your years. My mom using one for over 30 yrs and it is still going. Zojirushi also a good brand but from personal experiences I preferred Tiger brand over Zojirushi. My last Zojirushi lasted only 4 yrs but the current Tiger rice cooker still running after 6 years.

I use my Instant Pot to make rice all the time. If you soak the rice for a few hours before cooking the rice will not stick to the stainless steel pot.

Costco.com prices are usually more expensive because they also include shipping/handling fees. They are more expensive but only like $5 to cover those fees.

Has anyone used the Tacook orange bowl with this or is it more of a gimmick? I watched a promo video of it on youtube and honestly it looked kinda cool how you could cook your veggies and meat at the same time as the rice. For someone who lives alone like me that was kind of intriguing so I thought I would ask.

I mean the price on costcos website which including shipping is the same price as here so unless they are using the online price for slickdeals I would say it's the same price in the store.

do those super expensive($400 or $500 range) Zojirushi rice cookers have better internal nonstick pots? Smilie
My question is can you get a stainless steel pot for the unit in OP? I really don't want non-stick pot. TIA.
