Promotions like this just feed my instinct to never recycle anything, but keep them stored in my garage in case a promotion comes along.

Haven't tried a monitor but that should qualify under computer so they should take it for free.

They used to also take batteries but not anymore.

Please do not dispose of old electronics this way. Many towns have e-recycling options for free/cheap.
Unfortunately, all the local electronics recycling places will NOT accept any monitors without payment. It stinks because I'm sure requiring payment encourages the behavior mentioned above (wrap/hide it in household trash) even though that's technically illegal in my state. I've even seen a couple tv/monitors sitting randomly on the side of a bike path.

What is wrong with you people? How hard is it to be a decent human being and recycle your electronics to a Best Buy? All you have to do is put them in a box and drop them off at their Geek Squad for them to process it. They do the hard parts.

Why give them a whole 64 MB?!!LMAO
Dig deeper in the drawer and dig up that 8 MB one.
Amateurs. My floppy disk collection is finally going to pay off - 1.44mb each.

(Ironically, the smallest flash media I have on hand is a Compact Flash of 128mb.)

Staples will take monitors for free. Best buy charges a fee for taking monitors. https://www.staples.com/sbd/cre/m...ectronics/

I used this on the sale priced 14TB WD easystore. Brought in a 2TB bare drive. was a bit of a hassle for the CS rep to find the coupon in their system but 14TB for ~250 was not too bad. not the best as I think b&h had a similar price a few days ago i missed, but not too bad either and I needed a drive quickly.
Did you receive a physical coupon that could be used at a later time? And did you know if the Jan 2023 expiration was listed on it? I'd like to recycle a drive now and get a coupon to use when I want to pull the trigger.

The promotion is "WD & SanDisk Hard Drive Recycle & Save", which would make storage cards ineligible.

On the topic of CRTs, if it's in working order, you could post it online for free, and a CRT enthusiast might be willing to come get it from you. They are especially popular among the retro gaming community.

I wish Best Buy take my old monitors for free. Aint paying $25 to throw away garbage.
Check to see if you have a local Goodwill that does electronics recycling. https://www.goodwill.org/press-re...-programs/ There is a few of them in the DFW area, and they will take old CRT's. (Does not have to be working)

Huh. I didn't even know some of these recycling deals ran all year. I recycled some items like printers and routers and they never gave me any coupons.
