Did you know that electronic recycling is a huge scam legal business? They charge a double dip recycling fees, at time of purchase and at time of dispose. On top of that, they still dispose it anywhere not known to public media. When they got caught, they just pay the penalty and still doing it. Also, depending where you live, I don't think standard waste goes to any water. They dumped it in the dumpster landfill, which 25 years later built as housing properties.
Link proof or go away. Tired of crap comments like this without sources. Its how BS propagates..

Wish they'd define storage device clearly. I have an old 8 gb sd card no longer working. Would that count?

pretty much anything counts. bby has no value in whatever you offer so why would they care what you give them to recycle? they may as well had out the coupons and ask people to don't forget to recycle some day in the future. the goal is to get you to buy a storage device with a 15% discount that they can swallow. however, if you deal with the wrong people, you could easily be told whatever you are trying to give them is current unable to recycle and they could deny you. i can see someone says if you had them a flash drive, "at this store, we are unable to recycle those storage devices so we can't accept it." their promo, their rules.

Best Buy's return policy has a standard return policy of 15 days from the date of purchase. Items eligible for a full refund and exchange with a receipt; without a receipt, the item can be exchanged. For items like cell phones and devices that require activation, the return period is 14 days. Nothing standard about this Amazon, Target, Walmart, Microcenter etc... have better return policies. Don't buy from Best Buy!

95% of the time, I don't have a need for return policies when it comes to electronic. These device have a warranty so I would only use the return if I didn't want the product any longer and I'm not that kind of buyer especially after having it for 2 weeks. If I have a real problem, I probably used a credit card which is where I focus for the maximum amount of protection. I don't worry too much about store return policies, that's 1990s.

Does a dead hd count as an "eligible device?"

Those whom wonder if HDDs, CDs, and DVDs are of storage devices. By definition, Electronic Storage Media is Any electronic device that can be used to store data [babson.edu]. This includes but is not limited to internal and external hard drives, CDs, DVDs, Floppy Disks, USB drives, ZIP disks, magnetic tapes and SD cards

So it says "ANY" storage drive in the first line of the deal, and then it says "Eligible" storage drives in the second line of the deal. Which is it?

Can I break out my 5.25" floppy disk or a 20GB Western Digital HD I have sitting around for this deal?

I remember when you could recycle trash laptops and receive $50 in store credit or some sh*t like that. This 15% off discount is laughable, lulz

I am definitely considering grabbing this if I can get the 15% off coupon and apply it to something that is already on sale. Perfect drive to slap in the extra available slot on the PS5, especially since the amount of memory it comes with is laughable at best.
