Be sure to format and do a clean windows install because the bloatware nearly bricked my 8940
Click 'Start > Settings > Update & security > Recovery' and then choose 'Get started' under 'Reset this PC'. A full reinstall wipes your entire drive, so select 'Remove everything' to ensure a clean reinstall is performed.
Best budget gaming rig deal out there right now

Finally got in on this deal. I have a RX480 8gb card in my current machine, should I sell that or should I sell the 1660? I am going to go do my own research but I'd like to hear others opinions as well.
Not sure, but I am half debating buying this machine just to take out the 1660 and resell the rest. I just want a decent low/mid range video card for a fair price and thats been literally impossible the last few years.

Do I need to upgrade the RAM, 8GB seems low (my phone has more)? I am using the computer mainly for work (microsoft). If so do you need to buy Dell or any brand is fine?

would this work https://slickdeals.net/f/15214291-crucial-ballistix-16gb-8gbx2-3200-mhz-cl16-ddr4-laptop-sodimm-memo...

How could bloatware brick a computer? It could slow the computer down. but bricked?

Since it has 4 slots as per specs, could someone put 4 - 8GB sticks? Just curious

Ugh. I just snagged this HP [ebay.com] while eBay was doing their refurbished discount for $1000. Got it on tax-free weekend here so I saved another 10%. I guess with the extra ram and i7 I didn't get a terrible deal. Would have liked the larger SSD. Three years of warranty with my credit card is nice also. Can always get a beefier GPU in the future.

Here is a great video to upgrade the cooling. Although a Ventoo V5 mighht be easier to install as a CPU cooler.

The image on the Dell site for this 8940 looks like it uses a different CPU cooler than the one in the video. Does anyone know if the CPU upgrade would still be needed?

You didn't get a good deal because it has the non-super GTX 1660. In comparison, I bought a brand-new Lenovo Legion 5i with a GTX 1660 Super, 512GB SSD, i7-10700F, 16GB RAM, and 650W PSU for $800
