I have a TCL 43" 4K TV with Roku built in and I love it. How is this brand compared to all the more expensive ones?

I have a komodo, which is made by Sceptre. It's a good tv. It isn't anything a 4k tv snob is going to like, but I was replacing a 32" 1080p with it so I'm happy enough. No issues with quality so far in 2 years.

I'd only buy this as a temporary replacement set.

With these cheap tv's buy the walmart extended warranty. $39 for 5 years, that's $7.80 a year, an insane deal on a warranty. That being said, I have had cheaper sets in the past. Cheaper panel's don't look as nice, this one is not HDR. Maybe a VA, certainly not IPS. Not complete crap, just basic.

That being said, it is cheap and a warrantied 55in 4k for $239 is tough to beat.

Got 2 and have had them for a year with no issues decent color decent speakers but for the price definitely worth it. Isn't smart but plenty of ports on the back for anything to make it smart has fiber optic for sound too

How does the warranty for something like this work? I tried their squaretrade warranty and they legit just sent me the value in a GC. Sorta pisses me off, Which is why I haven't used them since.

They sent you the value of the TV or the warranty??
If it was the value of the TV then you lucked out.
Cheap TVs are not worth fixing. They would just rather take the loss than fix it so something else breaks a few weeks later.

The price I paid for the TV. I mean I guess that's good? But whenever I buy something on Sale/Clearance or PM, they claim its will cover it but IMO its a lie. I get back what I paid for it. So when BB has those $40 controllers deal on BF, I'll have to put $25 or so extra into it plus the warranty cost. Which means, I'm almost at the cost I paid for it to begin with.

This used to be ips from Walmart, but I am not so sure now.

If it is the VA version I would not want it especially since it is dimmer than the ips. The VA panel version appears to lack the "chin" on the bottom middle of the tv. Walmart has the VA model number, but the ips pictured.

Sceptre has been making great computer monitors for decades. I wouldn't hesitate buying one of their TV's.
