Wish it had some mediocre graphics than 3050, it barely handles games. But still a good deal i think.

This is the first Inspiron I've seen in a while with a dedicated graphics card.

They have a series with mid tier GPU since last two generations. Google Inspiron 15 plus which is the predessor of this one.

For the interested, upgrading to the 3060, 1TB drive, and 32GB RAM costs about ~$350 ($1,368.86 instead of $1017.62).

Does anyone know if the displayport is wired to the dGPU on these or is the dGPU presented through the iGPU like on many other Dell laptops? This has severely limited Nvidia control panel - including the ability to enable G-Sync, undervolting, etc. on my 2020 XPS, for example. And man, these off-center trackpads trigger me.....

And it doesn't handle it well. 11800H throttles so hard it performs worse the past generation 6 core..

FYI the thermals are very bad in this unit, if wanting a good Ultrabook with good thermals in similar price range look at IdeaPad 5 pro, the 3050 version hadn't quite released in US yet though. This Inspiron throttles down to just 35w 3050 and 20w 11800H where the Intel performs very bad, keep in mind the base target wattage for 11800H is 45w and beyond, unlike Ryzen, Intel does not perform well at low wattages, but performs significantly better at higher wattages. Not ideal!

If you're worried about 3050 graphics you'd probably be just as worried about the display latency and lack of i9 processor. It's not a gaming laptop though so if you want that of course go at least for the recent Legion 5 deal. Yes, it's disappointing that an older 1660 laptop can often perform better, but aside from the HP Pavilion most 1660 or better laptops are gaming laptops and many models from this year are more expensive than $1100.

What is your source for these information? I have checked multiple reviews including the one posted in Notebookcheck.net 2 days ago. It's performance is pretty good during load and we'll balanced between thermals and performance.
Don't just post your made up numbers. May be start reading from the below review will help you.

So if for personal office use and not gaming, does this then present as a fair price? Trying to replace OG Surface Book ?
