Got young kids and don't have time to watch the whole video. Care to share a summary?
tl;dr if you're a coffee/espresso snob, this machine isn't for you.
Hoffman just does some fairly deep analysis on how the machine operates. He tries to replicate with his own hardware, modifying brew temps and all the other variables, realizes how it's hard to actually replicate Nespresso.
Nespresso Vertuo pods are essentially dark roasted, espresso ground beans with no/foil filter with low pressure. The foam is aerated, created due to the spinning of the pods.
Nespresso probably attempts to make premium coffee/espresso brews with spinny spinny technology which is fascinating especially how it also results in "crema" which it's just foam due to the spinning.

If you value your consumer choice you should avoid the Vertuo system because it's basically an attempt to lock you into a market controlled by Nestlé. That will increase the prices you pay and reduce your choices. It's also unnecessary given that the Nespresso system is already well established.

Maybe worth a quick call to let them know you're having trouble with the code.

That being said, it sure is slightly inconvenient having to put more beans in a used pod, so yeah I'm also kinda considering just getting a cheapo drip brew and selling this machine lol...
If I can't get good resale out of it I'd probably just keep it and buy a few sleeves for guests...or the occasional desire to feel "fancy" with some hazelnut
