Got this last time it was same price. There is a 3 sec lag for the lid to start open. No one would like to hold trash in their hands and either bend or lift their leg for the trash can lid to open. And sometimes it doesn't even sense the motion and you have to hard press the button. I wouldn't buy and regret this product.

The time delay renders the electronic lid absolutely useless. I wound up returning it. Honestly, the manual foot pedal is cheaper and more practical.

More than a few reviewers mention a delay in the sensor opening the lid and needing your hand to be too close in order to get it to work.

Buying one of these hand sensor garbage cans was one of the biggest mistakes of my life. Just get a foot operated one

Bought one for my bathroom from the last sale. Dont have a delay at all. Sensor works fine.
My only complaint is it doesn't have a detached bag ring liner like the bigger versions so the bag you use is exposed on the outside.

I have one for my bathroom and LOVE it! No delay at all the sensor works great. I already have an extra in the attic, but I'm buying another. Can't pass up this price.

Mine DOES have the trash can ring so the bag doesn't show. You may want to check yours again, or perhaps they have updated it.

My Insignia 3 gal. and 13 gal. from the past few months have no lag either and both include bag liners. I wonder if people are talking about a different brand or Insignia has some QC issues I'm not aware of. Should be probable cause for a replacement. These have a 1-year warranty.

This is the lowest price I've seen the 3 gal. and I'm tempted to just pick up 2 more. These are as good as "non-smart" auto trash cans get.

I have one of these cans and there is no delay. I am not sure what people are talking about. Maybe there are different versions.
