American is one of the worst airlines to fly with right now. Be cautious as the cancel flights with no notice because they still don't have the crew needed to fly all their scheduled flights.

Too bad there's no cruises from San Juan during September/October. EDIT: Also, you can guarantee that whatever flight you book and pay for on American will not be the flight you take. They re-schedule flights almost as a matter of policy.

And in that time frame, you had better hope the storm gets named so you can still cancel whatever plans you make. That's just the Caribbean norm, especially in recent years.

I was stranded in DFW with kids because they had mechanical issues & no seats on the next day's flights. Lucky to get standby on a flight, but it was an "adventure."
