No indication on the dial or the photos that it is really an automatic watch - very unusual for a Swiss brand. The written description that this is a Powermatic movement may be an error.

I chatted with CS reps and was told that it was indeed auto. Still worried though, but thinking might pull trigger and see if I get lucky? If not, I can return it.

Short: Just wanted to let people know a CS rep told me it was indeed auto. I'm still hesitant.

This is pretty slick if it's the powermatic. I think they screwed up in the description though.

However, for those that ordered and receive a quartz, you have a very good argument with customer service. Take screenshots of the description and you may very well get what was promised after a chat with customer service, or possibly a partial credit back to keep the quartz, or at the very least, an easy return.

If I was in the market I would roll the dice and see what I get.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find a sub $200 Swiss auto and Sapphire crystal from a decent maker.

Personally, I prefer automatics but I could live without it if the watch was that nice and the price was right. I just can't live without Sapphire crystal. I'm way too careless and ruined many a watch face without it. I have literally bashed my Sapphire watches thinking I demolished them and not even a scratch. I have a few retired still waiting for me to pony up to replace the crystal.

Best deal recently was the Tissot Visodate stainless on leather with the standard ETA day/date (non-Powermatic) movement at Jared for $180-ish after CB. Most watch deals on SD are meh, including this one.
