Only ones I saw in-store were Google and Orbi. However, this was shipped to my doorstep in two days.
But suddenly it started dropping satellite. No changes have been made to network. It came out of nowhere. No firmware update No new node.
Hopefully this can be easily configured as AP as well through the app.
This thing has powerful antennas that even with channel interference should punch through everything, unless you literally got networks completely surrounding you with FEM type antennas. I think 1 depending on construction material and interference should probably cover 2K sq feet depending on centralization of the router.
Only two routers that beat this in performance are the Asus GT-AXE11000 and the Netgear RAXE500 to put into perspective how good of a single router solution this is.
I was looking at the intel-based tplink archer ax3000 router for $70 refurb. Its performance looks pretty good but capacity is less than this set. Then again, it's 1/3rd the price. I'm leaning towards this set but $300 seems a bit much. Hrmm...
One bonus feature of this mesh system over my existing Ten da Mw6 is the satellite unit has 2 multi gig ports that act as LAN ports. This means I can hook it up to my office pc via network cable instead of needing to add a wifi6 wireless adapter. This saves me roughly $50.
Hrmm, it seems the X60 (3pack, no 3rd channel for wireless backhaul) also supports using wired port as Lan bridge while on sale for $220. Touch choice. 3rd unit gives you more flexibility in placement.
Edit: went for the Ax5700 since I don't have wired back haul link. It's pretty much the same as the ax6600 (X90) but with 3x3 antenna vs 4x4 antenna for the 5ghz-1 band.

The AX5700 on the other hand is triband so dont have to worry about wired backhaul at all unless you really want and its primarily for those people who over wireless want their full 1Gbps connection.
Yep they are almost completely identical accept for the radios and with current tests they perform almost identically to each other.

The guest network lets you customize the name and CHOOSE if you want it to be both 2.4ghz and 5ghz or if you just want one or the other.

Thanks for that link...spent way too much time there...lol. I see why there is so much love for Asus now on all these router threads and am leaning that way myself. I'll probably start with an AX86U and see if I even need another node since it seems to be the best all around router out currently (based on dongknows review [dongknows.com]). I currently have a 10 year old Nighthawk R7000 which actually does decently throughout our whole ~5.5k sqft home (including basement) except a couple of spots. Maybe an upgrade to WIFI6 with still just one router but with beefier processing specs will do the trick. If not, Asus AiMesh seems pretty flexible with adding on nodes in the future with pretty much any asus router. Maybe I can even use my nighthawk as an AP instead of adding a mesh node.
Although I would note that the Costco AX5700 are all router units. Before I went mesh with these TP-link AX5700, I rocked a single Netgear 7000. It covered my house but as it got older coverage kept shrinking. Chances are if I bought a single Asus AX86u it would probably satisfy my needs in a simpler manner.
Just to confirm your running the units in a mesh and not AP's correct? Only time I heard of the disconnection issue it was in mesh so just double checking.
Only two things you can really try, easiest power cycle the second unit and see if that fixes the problem. Check to see if both units are on the same firmware so there is not a mismatch. Do a factory reset of the second unit and set it up again.
The other thing I would watch out for, if any of the units are around any bluetooth or radio/microwave equipment move them away from those sources as when those things kick in it can make the radios go crazy.
If its only the ring devices having the issue, they are notorious for not playing well with mesh of any type, and peoples work around has been to put them on the guest network at 2.4ghz mode only.
If problem persists you are out of options return them, roll the dice on another set and see if you have better luck on round 2. I guess you have one more option, use your existing router and just use the devices in AP mode instead of Mesh.
