Has 512 mb dram for those wondering. Only con is high idle power consumption if you want to use it in a laptop.

No, too long. You need a M.2 2230. The "30" is mm length.

I use the 500gb drives for OS only. A smaller drive makes me tidy up and move things. The bigger my C drive the more crud I save. This is a nice and well priced item. Better than the SSDs with same stats

Cheapest price I seen so far, however, I was able to get it for $52.99 from Newegg by taking advantage of a $10 digital coupon they were promoting for new customers Smilie .

This vs the Samsung 980? I just got the Samsung for $59.99 and wondering if this is worth saving a few bucks plus get DRAM?

Damn it. I bought G.Skill RAM and this SSD together and they've both gone on sale. I got a price match on the RAM but the purchase was from Newegg so I don't know if I can do the same for the SSD.

500GB just isn't much nowadays. Unless budget is a serious constraint, you're better off spending more for 1TB or more. Otherwise you will likely regret the 500GB in just a year or two. I know I did. Just my 2c
I feel like you generally should get a new drive every 5 or so years... risking dead drive.

i was coming from 2.5" 120gb primary ssd and 500gb secondary ssd. i had very little space left in both drives. i managed to back up to external hdds but still running low on space i thought going from 120 to 500 primary drive should be plenty. was i wrong. someone upgraded me to newer faster hardware. i downloaded one game. i'm running out of space on my primary m.2 samsung 980. now i can't even look at anything less than 1tb. after clean install win11 and some apps and games i had 450gb written to disk in first few days of use. now i want 1tb for primary and 1tb for external backup.
