Second all time post, last one was years ago, please be kind. I ran across this looking for a corded reciprocating saw and thought it would be of interest if you are in the cordless Bosch world. A normal price for the saw but the free battery and charger make it more compelling.
The saw has an orbital stroke which I prefer, a storage bag (not all that common at this price) and a blade. I have a few Bosch routers and a circular saw and I'm pleased with them. Ratings for this saw are fairly strong but in my mind you need to be a Bosch 18v enthusiast for this to make sense.
Oh, don't forget that Lowe's will offer 10% discount for veterans and 5% discount for their credit card members - can't stack these discounts, just one or the other.

Just put the item in the cart and the add on should appear in your cart.

From the Lowe's website:
The Bosch CRS180B 18 V Reciprocating Saw is built to easily move through hard tasks in places other reciprocating saws can't fit. It has the best power-to-weight ratio in its class. And at only 17.4 In. long and 7.6 Lbs., this formidable but compact cordless reciprocating saw allows electricians or plumbers with a tool that delivers an efficient 1-1/8 In. stroke, to remove more material per stroke. The tool's light weight is ideal for continuous cutting over-the-head. The easy-to-operate Lock-Jaw™ blade-change system allows for fast one-handed blade changes. It has two speed ranges – 0-2,400 SPM and 0-2,700 SPM – to match the speed of the cut to the material, and it easily handles multiple materials. The CRS180B is a bare tool; the battery and charger are sold separately.
Compact design, with a tool length of only 17.4 In. for tight spaces
Weighs only 6.35 Lbs., great for overhead work
Long 1-1/8 In. stroke for more efficient material removal
Best-in-class power-to-weight ratio
One-handed Lock-Jaw blade-change system
Two speed settings and variable-speed trigger, to ease into cut
Electronic Motor Protection (EMP) protects the motor against overload and ensures a long lifetime
Bosch FatPack Batteries (sold separately) feature the CoolPack design with a special heat-conductive housing and ribbing that cools them by drawing out heat out, providing battery life of up to 100% over lithium-ion batteries without CoolPack design
Bosch Electronic Cell Protection (ECP) protects the battery against overload, overheating and deep discharge

Got this last time around. Happy with it.

Just a heads up there are two different form factors for the 18v reciprocating saw from Bosch. I like this style personally (from original post)... but - worth looking at the other for consideration (no free battery).

Hmm - or- maybe this is a model no longer made? I swear it was in stock when i was looking a few months back.

I don't know if it's been discontinued, but it's still kicking around out there in retail channels.

Interesting. Maybe there are some technical differences between the two? I didnt dig into it that far...

PS: Loving all these Lowes tool + free battery deals! Replacing all my mismatch clunky old stuff finally. Set a deal alert for "18v Bosch"... and letting the deals roll in.

Same Bosh part #, so it should be the same tool? It's available in the 12v platform as well.

I got this smaller one on sale a few months ago. Decided I wasn't pro enough to justify this full size version. And I've been surprised at how well it does. I took down a deck with it and then processed all the lumber for save/scrap. Was pretty great on battery considering the task. I kinda want this big one now though because the price is almost equalizing, but really can't justify it given that I've never run into something yet at my DIYlevel that the "drill grip" style hasn't handled. Note though that's there's an even smaller version too (I think 12V), with a similar drill grip style. Haven't used that one...

I thought all of the Bosch 18v get the free battery at Lowe's right now.

Every day that goes by, I get one day closer to Bosch releasing their Strongarm Circular saw, with a left side blade. I've waited so long for a 7-¼ track saw with a left blade. Not even Festool does that!

Great deal. I was gonna grab one, but I don't care for this version. The new one coming out in 2022 (along with several other Profactor tools) I might end up buying ... but I'm stocked up on the 4ah Core's right now. Also, I've been really happy with the shorty recip XR from Dewalt. Its one of their last good tools.

Hopefully next year, bosch finally gives us the 18v router we've begged for, for so long.

Next year might be the year Bosch takes Makita out of the top spot for Box Store tool brands. Bosch finally has a good battery (the best battery currently) so now They're going to swing big for their next generation cordless. But we need the Profactor Router, and the Bosch PBD-40 drill press (why they don't sell that drill press in America, is crazy. It's such an awesome, affordable VFD drill press.) However, Bosch told me they still have no plans to bring it to the US.😢😭😭

It's supposed to be a lefty thing. Inexperienced right handed people will think the entire industry screwed up by putting right-handed saw blades on the right side where it takes slightly more effort to see where the blade is.

They are wrong.

If a right-handed user used saw with blade on the left, they are literally reaching over the spinning blade to operate it. This is very dangerous in situations of kickback or momentarily being distracted.

Professional users often use a worm-drive saw or a portable where the blade IS on the left side. Why is that? It's because Professional users(think framers)actually use saws left handed almost exclusively, and do so only using one hand to operate it while stabilizing the work piece with their right.

Summary, don't be a noob. Buy the saw intended for whichever hand is dominant.

Not to be rude here, but as a framer myself, I think you are incorrect here.

Every professional who uses a worm drive circular saw (blade on left) operates it with their right hand. Right hand with blade on the left allows you to see the cut you're making. These saws are made to operate one-handed. You place your material on your foot, holding it with your left hand, and you operate your saw with your right hand.

Professionals use worm drive/hyphoid rear handle saws. Noobs and light users buy top handle saws with the blade on the right.
