You can add them to your steam library after you installed them through the epic launcher. In steam go to add to library and search for the epic games install folder, click on the game you want to add and then you can launch them through steam. I do this with all the games I get from epic so I can launch them from the same place.

You need to download the Epic Games launcher and register for an account. Additional requirements are based on each game (i.e. if you need certain hardware requirements).

No, but it's not like it's obtrusive. They give free games all the time. Just set the program to not auto start at login

Epic's free games have been awesome lately. Epic is so much better than Steam, they just need to get the social side more dialed in and add Achievement tracking.

Yooka-Laylee was really great the other week, and I also really enjoyed A Plague Tale Innocence. I don't think I'm that interested in this Automachef game though lol

I've started using Playnite. Others use the GoG launcher interface. Both of those will automatically aggregate your games from all sources into one single UI (Steam, Epic, Xbox (for game pass), Amazon, etc). Playnite even has a "fullscreen" UI that is like Steam's Big Picture to browse and launch your games via controller on a TV.
