Nope, not at all. The story is so (intentionally) ridiculous that you can fill in the backstory. Notorious gang somehow gains so much notoriety and public approval that their leader is elected president.

this game is awesome btw. GTA meets The Matrix.

Personally liked this one better than Saints Row 4. That one had too many OP super hero feeling powers. you just flew and jumped everywhere. So it felt like there was no reason to explore the world, just quickly move to every next mission.

I love Saints Row, but based on that trailer it looks like a hard pass to me. Was holding out hope for a SR1 or even 2 proper remaster but it looks like a crappy woke zoomer reboot based on that cinematic.
