Thumbs up to both companies. Ego is the shiz. Once you get in their ecosystem you will be hooked. Get a few batteries to rotate and bob's your uncle. Great quality, even better warranty program. In addition Acme stands by them. Class act when I had to return a faulty blower.

Good deal. I bought a refurbed hedge trimmer. Works great. Agreed that the extra battery is a no brainer. These things are $100/ea new.

Unfortunately it doesn't look like they tell you which battery you get with most of them. The 2.5Ah battery comes in two flavors: BA1400 and BA1400T. The "T" gives you a 5 bar fuel gauge, and the other relies on a different color LED - not great if you're color blind.

I have a 1/4 of an acre, and I can do my lawn with enough charge to do the front again... that's mulching. That's also with the 5 Ah battery.

Thanks for the heads up, I just ordered a blower kit. Good deals to be found if you don't mind refurbished.

I've been eyeing the hedge trimmer for awhile, and it's always $99. For $30 more another battery is a no-brainer.

Does anyone have experience with the mower?

LM2102SP [acmetools.com] with a 7.5Ah 56v battery for $359 after coupon code.

Seems like a good deal. My lawn is pretty small at about 5000 sq ft so one battery so one charge should be enough. I do prefer to mulch rather than bag though.

Are there any other brands/models that's better value?

You're telling me. I've only had a lawn for a year and I have their:
- lawnmower
- leaf blower
- weed wacker
- edger with interchangeable ends
- small snowblower
- beastly snowblower

YMMV, they sent the wrong tube for a blower. I mean they could have maybe tried it out or looked at the bright model number. They didn't respond to my email so I did a charge back. Too bad, I could really use an extra, leaf and gutter jobs coming up. That said I may give them another chance but hard to believe they would miss something so obvious.

The downside to that ego model is that the motor is not brushless. To me that is important because With refurbished products the warranty is not as long. Nonetheless, it's great value.

So what are the best tools to get here? .75 acre lot, maybe .25 acre Bermuda grass.

I've had it for three years and can't speak highly enough about it.

Anybody has experience with their refurbished items?

I am thinking about the snowblower - I don't mind refurbished items - just need them to work at the full capacity as with new items

I got the pole saw and 18" chainsaw with a 2.5 aH and 5 aH batteries + quick charger. Went to my 5 acre lot to clear a ton of trash limbs, cut down some dead tree's from the texas winter storm, etc. The batteries outlasted me. I was drenched in sweat head to toe, and my batteries were ready to eat more tree. The only thing I don't like about the pole saw is that the chain tensioner isn't the best, as it gets wood chips in there and then you have to take it apart and blow it out to move it. The chainsaw is pretty great. Would have been near perfect with a full wrap around grip, but what can you expect for this price range. These are ultimately very minor gripes for incredible bang for the buck tools. The chainsaw really is just incredible. Buttery smooth cuts. Was able to practice some specialty cuts as well. Had great looking hinge wood. A+
