I quickly removed it from the bedroom and replaced it with a silent oil radiator which is the best for a bedroom for the comfort and the even heat. Oil heaters are both convective and radiant.
The Dyson was moved to an open living room - dining room area which has an un-insulated cathedral ceiling. An oil radiator heater is ineffective with the high ceiling. The Dyson did a good job there and the noise didn't matter. Mine was the Hepa filter model. As an air filter it not effective.
So the answer is yes no maybe as a heater depending on your living space and climate. I attribute -0- value to it as a cooling fan do to the noise and limited air flow. Not worth anywhere near the cost as a cooling fan imo. Ask the others who say they like it about their climate room configuration and insulation.
Other issues: It shut off unexpectedly and required manual re-start. It times out. The remote broke and was expensive to replace. It requires setting up away from the wall and was always in the way. I donated it to the homeless resource thrift shop. If I need a heater for the type of space it is good for then I might re-purchase but would not pay more then $100 for it.
Won't buy again.
