It's a good sound bar, but it's really missing option of a subwoofer without spending a lot of money. I got lucky and got 2 satellite speakers for $100 used.

Decent deal. Except costco always have it for $280 every year around Thanksgiving time.

Just my 2 cents... I was underwhelmed after purchasing the beam. Just didn't put out a lot of sound - now obviously it's a fairly small package and physics is what physics is.

Upgraded to Arc, so much happier, of course for quite a bit more dough. Just keep expectations within reason if you're opting for the Beam.

Better value with the Arc for sure.

The Beam is excellent for what it is, great for a studio, apartment living room or a bedroom.

[EDIT]

Got a few thumbs down, I hope no one thinks I was dissing the Beam, the beam is the best sound bar in its class. It's a powerful beast for its size. But if you're putting it in a larger living room, then you might be underwhelmed by this bar as I quoted Aaron (above me, he mentioned this as well). You get quite a lot more sound with the ARC at a 30-40 percent increase in price, which some might prefer.

Sonos fits a niche that others can't fill. Wifi connected surround sound that requires no wiring to be ran from source to surrounds. The added bonus of whole house connectivity if you have more than sonos room.

I don't know why. It's in the Arc but not the beam. Crazy.

The Arc is significantly larger than the beam. 11 speakers in the arc, with 2 of them being upfiring Atmos speakers. Depending on positioning, the effect may be more subtle or overt.

The beam is just 5 forward firing speakers. I don't think either can be effectively judged without the sub, which is another big investment.

Should have gotten the sub instead of the arc. Huge upgrade. I have one room with the beam 2 satellites and a sub and another with the arc and the arc is blown away by the beam combo with the sub.

There are plenty of good sounding soundbars with wireless surround speakers.
Amazon, Apple, Google, etc, etc, all offer wireless whole home audio.

Atmos, which is the ceiling channel, belongs in the ceiling, not on a soundbar. Bouncing sound to the ceiling and back to the listener is faux. A real home theatre setup does not use bouncing sounds on the wall. The Atmos term is good marketing, it does confuse a lot of buyers. Soundbar are useful when buyers don't want a real sound system.
Agree, and I don't understand why Sonos hasn't added this functionality yet. They already have in ceiling speakers…they just need to add the coding to the setup.

I love my arc, but the Atmos feature is overblown. When you listen to it in a store, they position it a few feet below your head so that from where you are standing, you get the "Atmos" effect. This is NOT what will happen in your home, as it's supposed to hit the ceiling and bounce down. Really you just get a more enveloping sound, which is nice, but doesn't really achieve the Atmos effect.
