I remember being extremely excited about the concept of having another arcade racer in the style of old Sega arcade titles.
But the AI in this game is just bad. Not sure if they've fixed it since I last played, but basically none of the racing ever felt important except for the final stretch where you made sure to boost and win.
That's to say, no matter how good or bad you did, the AI would rubber band to always make the race feel competitive. It easily ruined the game for me.
