A "feature" that doesn't get mentioned in these are the low volume drops, where something like ambience or even a silent moment in a game or movie will causes these to go into standby, and then switch on again. An example I had with TaoTronics was Dark Souls 2. There would be water nearby and I could hear it, but instead of a steady water sound it would fade out and start full blast again, then fade out and full blast, each time, id it wasn't occasional but constant, fading out and going back to full volume about every 7 seconds.

If you're looking to pick this up check reviews for it and see if it has this 'feature'. Some Bluetooth speakers do the same thing. I think creative's 2.1 Soundbar does this but is supposedly fixable via firmware upgrade.

I did eventually find one that didn't have this problem by a company called Elegant. Maybe this one will work just as well, but I thought I'd share something to watch out for.
