I bought 8 of the 8.5" Corelle pasta bowls for $2.88 each back in Spring 2019. They are holding up great, probably the most used dishes in our house - great for salads, anything saucy, my vessel of choice for reheating a meal in the microwave. Thin, lightweight, but high quality (no chips or scratches), have probably endured a thousand dishwasher cycles at this point.

These rarely break, but when they do, they'll shatter.

If that happens, the shards are mercilessly sharp ...... and can be incredibly small, much worse than getting a sand spur barb stuck on your foot.

Use a flashlight to shine light from an angle, onto the floor.

The shadow(s) will be larger than the pieces .... most of the pieces .... allowing you to find them quicker.

The closer you can bring the flashlight to the ground, while shining across the floor, the better your chances of finding pieces.

Lastly: run water in your sink, take a square of paper towel sheet, and lay it flat, into the running water.

Cut the water, let the water drain out a little bit, then grab the dripping wet paper towel by the two corners at the top, and "sweep" the ground with the bottom edge .... the idea is that the tiniest of shards will get stuck to the wet paper ..... not into the soles of your feet.

We use them for everything too and they are holding up great, by far our favorites.

Once a long time ago I dropped my grandma's bowl while washing / drying the dinner dishes and I was so scared everything seemed to be in slow motion but to my surprise there wasnt even a scratch! I looked over and my grandma just smiled . These dishes will stand the test of time ( at least 2 or 3 generations)!!

Are they made in China like the Ikea ones? They are made of glass too.
EDIT: Macy's said they are made in the USA. They look exactly the same.
I use this over my porcelain ware but in the microwave, glass gets hotter to the touch. Macy's has 3 year warranty. I think Ikea has lifetime warranty? I've never returned anything to Ikea so I don't know what their process is.

I love Corelle stuff. It's durable, stacks great, doesn't take up a ton of space. They've been around forever, so you can find complete sets at thrift stores.
