Corelle is better break resistance than Platzgraff. I have both. If you drop corelle, on wood floor, it will have a slight bounce but does not break. Platzgraff on the other hand will break. However, if you shatter Corelle, it will be small pieces of glass; thought it it's harder to break Corelle than Platzgraff. My Platzgraff set is heavier, i hate hand washing them for this reason. Corelle is light and durable. The latter easily chip. I always opt for Corelle over Platzgraff.
