This was 229.00, but is now 169.00

https://www.amazon.com/DEWALT-DWF...00A5U2B66/ OOS

ACME Tools also has it for that price, but with paid shipping.

It's the same as the Bostitch BTFP12569 with a different paint job.

Nice! Looks like it may even be brushless!
18 gauge is lighter, not heavier.
Are Dewalt and Bostitch under the same family?

Yes... Stanley Black & Decker... the destroyer of quality brand tools. Frown Frown

This is one of those older style air tools that has declined in usage, so it makes business sense to not reinvent the wheel. Proprietary battery operated are becoming more popular as a convenience for the occasional usage, but those installing thousands of square feet per year in high end homes still use pneumatic, including this model that does not come with a case. If you have never done much of it and using real wood, a floor jack is nice, but you can use blocks and wedges.

The newest DeWalt should have a slightly different handle, but I can't tell any functional difference between the DeWalt, Bostitch, Freeman or even the cheaper NuMax. I suppose if someone wanted to take the time, they could chase down parts for comparison. A neighbor did his family room with a much cheaper Wen and a floor jack. For some reason, when you get into the heavier [lighter- thanks rhankins] 18ga, is when you start seeing a difference in price with the name brands.

Thanks op, good price, got one. Rental is about 160per week at HD. So definitely makes sense since I have a project coming up soon.

I just bought one of these with a diff brand. For my 1/2 inch thick engineered hardwood floors I needed an 18 gauge one so I went with NuMax S18GLCNDH for $154. Works well, no complaints.

That is what I get for dual and triple tasking.... but they have been more expensive in the name brand nailers and don't seem to split modern man made laminates as badly.

I borrowed a friends Harbor Freight brand floor nailer and did 1400 sq ft without any problems and he did both his and his fathers house, said he paid $129 for it several years ago.

I just bought the Bostitch and this is IDENTICAL. It's worked great so far for my first 400 sq ft. Great buy

Just rented the heavier duty version of this from Home Depot last week for like $30 for a day. Seems a lot smarter to do that than to buy one unless you plan on needing to use this for ~6 days+ which would be pretty rare
