Big difference is those don't require a large upfront cost. You're not buying the gym to workout there and pay a membership fee. You aren't going to pay thousands of dollars to get access to a personal trainer AND additionally pay for their time. Also if you do spend thousands of dollars on these products you pretty much are forced to buy into the subscription or you're left with little to no features. It's a scummy business model that I want no part of.

Some of these sales are just normal prices. I have the proform 750r and it's great, but it's also normally 600. 1100 normal price is made up, as this would never sell a single unit against a concept rower at that price.

Somebody broadly mentioned proform doesn't last unless you're 99lbs, so I'll say the following. I'm a 160lb 5'10" male and have been working out regularly for almost 20 years. I've absolutely used proform equipment over the years that fell apart, just like almost every other brand. I've also used proform gear that took a real beating… when so many brands spread out their portfolio beyond what's appropriate, you have to just pay attention to what brands are good for what equipment. My rower is about a year old, it has been excellent from day one (3-5x use per week) and had a 3yr warranty that came with it. A significant portion of exercise equipment is generally listed at 200-250lb as the max weight. Working on any equipment if you are above that specified weight, or using it incorrectly, will cause it to fail early. Always research this and make purchases accordingly to find the right features that fit your needs.

They could give those things away and I wouldn't take it with their BS subscription model. Them and all other subscription-based fitness products can **** right off.

perhaps updating the primary image to reflect the lowest priced item would be helpful? I saw the adjustable kettlebell as the header image and "starting at $13" and was excited - and then to see it's $150 when it was $99 on prime day, just disappointing.

If you go to a gym, you pay; if you work with a personal trainer, you pay; if you work with a virtual trainer (Peloton digital, Apple Fitness+. etc), you pay…. If you workout by yourself and don't use anybody else -or their creations- as your training, then it's totally free. Nobody is forcing you to exercise with someone else and pay for it.

Oh, I'm with you on that 100%. I use the exesize apps ($10/month) with my own equipment. $2,500 for a threadmill and $40/month subscription is insane.
