This is almost worth it just for the earring, it helps so much to get classes ready for the new expansion.

And if Shadowbringers was any indication, this next one is going to be amazing. This is an easy buy if you've played FFXIV at all.

I'm a WoW player, tried it last year during that big xp event and I only met one toxic person. Overall the community was something I've never seen before in an mmo in terms of helpfulness and the fact they are actually happy to be playing the game.

WoW on the other hand has definitely gone down the toilet.

Ff14 is about as solo friendly as an MMO can get which is why I appreciate it.

Kinda sucks you gotta pay monthly and for expansion content. I get it, that's how it's always been for some bigger MMO's. But dang!... should be one other the other, not both.
I hear ya! I don't like it either. The monthly subscription especially sucks for someone like me, who only has time to play 5 hours per week. I wish they offer the option of hourly or daily fee. But FFXIV is such a great game. I love it and I'd still pay for it in order to play.

Same! I have an irregular work schedule, so there are weeks that I can put in 20-50 hours a week, whereas I can go another 2 straight weeks where I can play only 0 - 5 hours max. I really wish they had a daily/weekly sub option.

Ya I have no time to play now so I canceled my subscription about a year ago. Loved the game though. I don't know why but I really loved fishing. It was relaxing and chill. Beautiful game though for sure.

First two years of this game were amazing for me. That said I'd never go back to those endless grinds because the community has surely changed by now. FFXIV was almost a golden age MMO in the sense that it wasn't discovered yet by the casual crowd (aka WoW players), and it made a HUGE difference in experience. Tighter knit, higher level of quality raiders, sense of server pride, etc.

The game itself is fine, and is still extremely well done but community will really make an MMO shine.

I took a break for the game after Stormblood. If I buy this will I also get access to Shadowbringers?
Also does it come with any game time?

I'm the opposite. I tried it twice, once before they nuked it and again after it was reborn. Neither time I could get into it, got to about level 30 both times before just getting bored.

WoW on the other hand, kept my interest for many years. I don't know why I'm the exception, but this game really didn't catch my attention. The landscapes seemed boring to me. Sparse and barely populated, and the quests were boring too. Curscenes were lackluster. Maybe I didn't get far enough. I literally just stopped playing and didn't even realize I stopped/missed it until about 3 months later. I dunno, maybe I should give it another shot
I was told going in to it that the MSQ was goingto be a grindfest. Playing with friends definitely helped me get through it and i ended up buying one of the skips. Stormblood and Shadowbringers ended up being some of the most fun for me both story and gameplay wise. Plus I was able to set my glamor to look like Randy Savage and Sonic.

I also think the amount of fun you have is dependent on finding a class that vibes with you. I had a lot more fun when I swapped to WHM and GNB.

I ended up hitting max level, beating the msq then quitting though. I believe I had some Jaina mount farming to do in WoW lol.

Yep, gets better after a realm reborn. Good quality of life changes too, like flying mounts. Join an FC (guild) and the players there are really helpful
