Just be warned the "Pixel" support isn't for Pixel phones. I believe they need a DisplayLink capable converter/adapter.

Honestly I'd basically given up on the idea of ever using an external display with a Pixel. So assuming I get a DisplayLink adapter and install the associated Android App I'd be set?

Good luck!

I am a little unclear what this provides. If it's benefit is to stream from my phone (Pixel 3) to an HDMI device (e.g. TV), I am not sure if I would even want to do so.

Edit: I see that this can be used to drive an additional external monitor for laptop or Chromebook, so that makes it more useful.

Wouldn't it be better to spend a bit more and get an adapter that has more functionality... 4k@60Hz, Ethernet, and more USB ports? Why tie up your precious USB C with just a display?

Basically. I haven't done it myself, but have seen some videos. You need to use the DisplayLink app with a compatible adapter that has a DL compatible chipset. Here is one of the cheaper ones that has been known to work:

https://www.amazon.com/Diamond-Mu...B002GHBW4S

But you can find more on Amazon ranging from around $30 to closer to $100 which have more dock-like functions.

Use case is pretty narrow I guess, in most cases I would think just getting a Chromecast and casting is more beneficial, but yeah it can do it with the right adapter.

I only recently talked to a friend into buying a Galaxy s10e instead of a Pixel because of this use case. Good to know that there are options for dedicated Pixel users.

Good luck!
