See how the vents are near the bottom and blow horizontally? That won't blow lighter kernels up and out of there until they pop. The other kind have a quarter-sized vent located bottom center and the hot air blows straight up.
One was given to me and I found the other at a yard sale. I keep an extra because I assume that they won't last long since it takes up to 20 minutes to roast raw coffee but they're only designed to run a couple minutes at a time for popcorn. Both have held up pretty well so far though.
