18 guage in stainless is over 1.3mm thick and is the most common thickness for a household sink.

I don't disagree with any of that and would even argue that 20 gauge is probably more common. I think what you're getting at is that this sink would be just fine for the vast majority of the population.

And this is a good deal (especially since you're getting the faucet too), which is the point of the post.

I'm just saying that some may wish to consider a thicker gauge and the impact it has on sound and longevity, and it's not too much more for this, although it doesn't go on sale very often since it's closer to commercial/restaurant grade.

18 gauge is ok, but the price difference between 18 and 16 (or even 14) is not that much. I just bought a 14 gauge sink at $280 after tax weeks ago at home depot.

yes. looking at that one before this post. not sure if we should pay $30 more for the extra bottommount when we only need it for topmount. also 9" deep but at an angle.

how is kohler compared to krauss? krauss has lifetime guarantee as well

Bought it last time using the 100 of 500 online coupon at Costco. Beautiful sink.

But we had to go from two bowl to one bowl, and this sink is a half inch wider than standard two-bowl sink that we had. If you're handy, you can do it yourself on a laminate countertop. We had to hire a plumber and the installation alone was $500.

If you have quartz or granite countertop, I cannot imagine the hassle.

Bought this before and returned. For the most part it's selling the brand name. I've installed Zuhne and Kraus instead they are just way much better (and sometimes cheaper), thicker material and leagues ahead sound deadening.

Not sure why the previous SDer was downvoted, but 16ga is about 30% thicker than 18ga and it's very perceivable. 18ga is kinda flimsy. If you have big cast iron pots like I do, I suggest you to pick thicker gauges.

Regardless which way you go, pay close attention to your sink cutout, don't be a fool like I was lol.
