Lol you beat me to it! 7 mins of scraping ice and 8+ hrs of freezing.
This works similarly to how ice cream makers work. You freeze the core for 8+ cores except there's a plastic scraper a motor that turns for you scraping the sides as it turns. 😉
I would rather choose any number of different single-serve blenders on Amazon for $20-$30 than this. The only benefit I could see to something like this has already been mentioned by someone else and that is using it to entertain kids. For any other purposes, it just doesn't make sense unless you just really like to plan 8 1/2 hours in advance for the eventuality that you will want a "smoothie"
I was trying to look this up on youtube and I came across videos where you can do the same thing with two ziplock bags, juice, salt, and ice. All in much cheaper than $8.30.
