I haven't found a link or reddit for the Neo Geo, but have seen this YT channel as a reliable source https://youtube.com/playlist?list...3ZAK_qGrkP

Genius on their part. You have to download their app just to see the link.

I think the appeal is the mini arcade and nostalgia factor. Definitely different than all the other retro systems out there.

The issue I have is that the arcade model is not the iconic red/black cabinet that every kid remembers from arcade years. I really wish they did that. Either way, while my brother was dropping quarters in SFII, I was busy playing Neo Geo.

Easy to mod. Has about 100 games in it. However build in joystick is pain(Need gamepad). I gave it away.

The pi guys show up to every one of these discussions.
Three things, okay?
1. The pi requires actual programming and commands and downloads and tutorials and installing an OS. That's easily an hour or more for someone who hasn't done it. Also costs $60.
2. The pi doesn't have a controller, nor would it be mapped correctly if it did and you'd spend another hour figuring this out. These controllers can run 20$ anyway.
3. A pi doesn't come with a screen either, nor the requisite cables to connect to one. A screen will run you another $20+.

Tell me more about why I should spend a day of my life and more money for a bunch of loose cables connected to a janky mini-computer that runs an operating system I have to type weird text commands into so that I can illegally download games?

I have a pi and think this is a ridiculous suggestion.
