I believe this is actually 220 nit.. 45% NTSC too, and gloss? Yeah no.. HP pavillion 13t has a 400 nit 16:10 QHD at 679$ 5600U
Still waiting for the comment "250nit - I'm out" lol
I have the same model without the touch screen. Bought it last year and upped the ram to 32gb. It's fast and I have every database you can think of running plus Python, visual studio and other tools. It's gets warm when running a lot at the same time. But normally it's fine. Battery lasts a good time under normal use too.

Galaxy book is trash lol. This is super light for 15.6 and is a capable desktop replacement
Clearly you are confused. The Galaxy Book Pro 360 has better OLED screen with higher nits. The CPU intel i7 is faster than this AMD.

https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Com...vsm1482042

Also the 360 is lighter and thinner. The build quality is excellent all metal feel.
Outside of the graphics card on the dell the 360 is a very good opponent/comparison.
Dell often plagued with build quality issues.

This Dell is now $750, and you can get Rak 10% and if you have 100 off 599 from Amex. The Lenovo is a convertible so if that is important to you then get the Lenovo. The Dell has an aluminum cover and the Lenovo is painted plastic I believe. The Dell is lighter (3.6 vs 3.94), has upgradable ram (max 32gb), has an extra slot for a second SSD. The dell can also be ordered with a 1 TB hard drive if you want. Processor is the same. I'd say the question is whether you want a convertible or not, as convertibles are generally significantly more expensive than non-convertibles. This lenovo is by far the least expensive 15.6 convertible with these specs. A convertible from any other brand (dell, HP, or Lenovo Yoga 7i) with a ryzen 7, 16gb ram and 512 HD will cost over $1000.

I asked myself this same question. With discounts, I got this Dell with 16gb ram and 1TB HD for $600 including tax, and the Samsung will be about $1120 including tax. The samsung definitely has better build quality, better screen, is lighter, and is a convertible. But the Dell has replaceable RAM and SSD. The question is whether the samsung is worth $500 more than the dell. I'm not a heavy user and i don't travel a lot so I'm inclined to say the Dell is better for me. But if you want a convertible then get the samsung.

Thank you! I don't need a convertible and the possibility to expand RAM and storage is great on the Dell. The Amex $100 off is great too!

There was a deal a few weeks back you could gotten the Samsung for less and flip free the earbuds for $100 and there was 15% CB with RAK. There is a another post about the deal not sure if its still around.
But I have no intentions on upgrading any of the RAM or SSD the build quality for the 360 Pro is excellent!

Haha. Good one. Your link even shows the 5700u is better (which it is). It is literally 70% better than the i7 (10000 passmark vs 17000).

If you're buying the laptop to do things with it the Dell is empirically better. Now neither of them are bad but the Ryzen is FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR better than the i7.

It's also irrelevant when comparing a laptop that costs more than twice as much... the dell build quality is great except for the touchpad issue which I will (and have) admit is very annoying in certain circumstances. I believe that is why they are discounting the laptop by 40%.

What people should know is that if you use it on a desk, you will never experience the touchpad issue.

And in all honesty, if you're buying a premium 2in1 you should only consider the Spectre X360.

Your missing the point some of us got a very good deal on the Pro 360. I paid less for it than the Dell deal. For the things I use the laptop for I'd probably never noticed any difference in the 2 CPU's. What I would notice is the weight, thickness build quality. I agree with you the Spectre 360 is a great laptop but its closer to $1200.

Yeah I missed the 15%. I have both edu and epp, and both showed $1124 for the 15.6 book 360 with 16gb and 1 TB hd with no trade in, then add in the 10% rak that pays for the tax.

Yes. It's very good. The Ryzen 7 processor is an absolute stud. I benchmarked it in pretty much every benchmarking software in the youtube videos I linked above. This processor is about as powerful as the original threadripper. 17000+ passmark.

Thanks, I appreciate it

This dell is one of the thinnest 15.6 inch laptops you can buy thatdoesnt have soldered ram and a passive cooling processor. It's barely thicker than my old spectre x360 13 inch. Hands down the sprectre is better build quality but a comparable spectre (doesn't exist since they only do intel and Intel is still so far behind) would easily cost 3 times what I paid for my Dell.

I think it would be a mistake to put a single 32gb. Unless things changed recently, that would mean you'd only have single channel ram, better to do two sticks of 16. Honestly the 8 and 8 it comes with might be better than a single 32gb.

It's very difficult to open the bottom of this laptop without breaking any of the 20 or so clips btw. They don't really matter but...

Of course dual channel is better, but my question is whether it supports OVER 32gb and if it supports 32gb stick at all. I am trying to find a laptop that will work with 64gb.
I know thats more than average user needs, my tasks are not average at all.
