I agree if the item is at normal price, or close to normal price, and they are just adding the promo it's not a deal. If the item is on sale already with decent discount and the promo is stacking on top of a sale price then I think it can be considered a deal in some circumstances.

What does more rep actually get you though where it's worth spending time trying to get it? I have a lot of rep and have never seen a benefit from it that I can tell.
