A 144Hz refresh rate allows quick-moving visuals to be seen with incredible clarity for speedier reaction times. Faster reaction times means you stay ahead of the competition. Plus, a 1ms MPRT/2ms (Gray-to-Gray) response time gives you seamless performance without motion blur

Not sure it's a good deal but hey it's here if anyone finds it useful Smilie

Reviewed well on rtings https://www.rtings.com/monitor/re...l/s3422dwg
and by IGN https://www.ign.com/articles/dell...dwg-review

Seems kinda pricey still for what you're getting but was a $700 monitor.

Would this or the AOC CU34G2X be better? Last time I saw the AOC was $415

Interesting to see Dell moving to VA from IPS.

Maybe they're trying to get away from cannibalizing sales from their Alienware ultrawides, which are IPS iirc., otherwise people wouldn't have very much incentive to splurge another $2-300 on the AW one.

Not a bad price for this, the stands for Dell have always been great (height adjustment being missing from a lot of other monitors) and definitely cheaper than when I got my ultrawide a couple of years ago (closer to $700 for the AW3418)

$480 is pretty expensive for a 34inch 144hz VA ultrawide.
Its the normal price for the comparable ASUS that rtings likes fairly equally:
https://www.rtings.com/monitor/tools/compare/asus-tuf-gaming-vg34vql1b-vs-dell-s3422dwg/22299/24247?... [rtings.com]

Now you can find monitors in this class selling in the low $300s
Right now you can buy a 120hz 34 VA from monoprice for $320.
https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=38035

Monoprice's DM 144hz 34 was on sale for $330 a few months ago:
https://slickdeals.net/f/15022342-monoprice-monitors-34-dark-matter-curved-1440p-144hz-ultrawide-mon...

If you want IPS in this price range you need to stick with 27inch 16:9 1440p monitors.
If you want to save up, the IPS ultrawides are ~$700.

This strikes me as an odd price point.

Do you have any suggestions for a 38-49" ultrawide? preferably 5K (5120x1440) & 1500R, but doesn't have to be?

Just buy a 48" OLED and add bars to the top and bottom

Yo.... That's a good deal. $380 for 144hz IPS ultrawide?!? Id have to look at more reviews. All I could find was this review from two weeks ago:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7GfYHfas1o

The negative is that it isnt curved. I use a non curved 40 inch tv as a 4k monitor and it is OK, but I would sit closer to a 34 and might want a curve. (I scale 125% on the 4k)

I'm glad to see a lower price IPS fast ultrawide hit the market!

This link leads to a used monitor. I don't see the new ones.
