Big question is can you add it to your existing Ring protect sub? If you can that makes the doorbell just $50. Which is a pretty awesome deal.
I purchased and it says on the box not eligible for properties with existing sub, but I've read you might be able to get CS to override. Will be trying later
I don't think the product page mentions anything about the Ring Protect Plus plan. Might just be the basic plan which is $30 for a 12 months.
I think you're right that this is only for the $30 for 1 year plan. That's the ring protect plan that used to be included with the ring doorbell 2 previously at Costco before they changed it to be a ring chime instead.

The way it use to be is that if you own the Ring Alarm system, it will then become Ring Plus, otherwise, just the basic plan. I bought the Ring Doorbell and it was the basic until I bought the Ring Alarm and it became the Plus.

I bought this and it is the Plus Trial 365 days. I didn't have a previous subscription. It may not work if you're already subscribed to Plus .edit: I also installed the alarm so maybe the reason it got upgraded to plus.

I bought the Ring Video Doorbell Pro with the 12 Month Protect Plan along with the Ring Alarm Kit from Costco early this year. The 12 Month Protect Plan was definitely the Protect Plus plan, as it covered my multiple Ring cameras (spotlight, indoor, stickup) as well as the alarm and doorbell. I was not a previous subscriber.
Was thinking of buying 1 more year of Ring Protect Plus for $100. I may as well buy this camera for $50 more.
I think you'll need to let your subscription lapse before you can add the Protect Plan from the doorbell. It shows up as a 1 year trial, as least that's how it works for me (I bought a similar deal with the Video Doorbell Pro).
It seems this is the Doorbell 3 Plus with the 4 second Black and White Pre-Roll, which was replaced by the $200 Doorbell 4 which has Color Pre-Roll, so the 3 Plus was discontinued, and given to Costco it seems.
I just bought the alarm from Costco last week and it had a 30 day trial, so I'll let that expire then connect the new doorbell. I was going to pay $100 for the 1 Year anyway, so this is good timing
What is the Ring Protect Plan?
Ring Protect Plan is an optional subscription service that allows video recordings from your Ring devices to be saved in your Ring account. Without Ring Protect Plan, you can use Live View on your doorbells and cameras and answer doorbell notifications when they happen, but you do not get video recordings of those events.
When does the Ring Protect Plan I've purchased start and end?
Your Ring Protect Plan will start when you've completed registering and activating your Ring product, not when you purchase it. The protection period ends after the included Ring Protect Plan period (1 year or 6 months depending on your location and bundle purchased) after you activate your device.
What happens when the protection period that came with the bundle ends? Will I be automatically signed up for a contract?
No, the Ring Protect Plan does not come with a contract. You may cancel it at any time. After your included Ring Protect Plan has ended you are, of course, more than welcome to continue your plan by subscribing to a monthly or annual Basic or Plus subscription, but there is no obligation to do so, nor will you be automatically signed up for it.
Do I get the 10% discount on Ring.com with my Ring Protect Plan from Costco?
Yes. The discount is included during the Ring Protect Plan period purchased through Costco. If you would like to retain the 10% discount benefit after this Ring Protect Plan has ended, you'll need to subscribe to Ring Protect Plus via Ring.com or Amazon.com to qualify for the discount.

To clarify, does the 12 month Protect Trial added by this Costco doorbell 3 plus have the professional monitoring for the duration of the 12 months? Its unclear what is the Costco version of the included Protect plan vs what is shown on the Ring web site.
