Today it dropped down from $1200 to $1049. Looks like a better deal than X85 at this price.
Just 1 year warranty though. Could have benefit from costco bundled insurance/warranty, if it was available at same price, but i guess costco got rid of 2020 stock a while back.

The 85" of this is $1500 at Costco. That's a sale. I don't know what this is.

Deals at costco are always the real deal. But they don't have anything great going on for 65" atm. Might have to hit the store and check again tomorrow.

Blows my mind that I got the 65" for $950 a year ago with a 7yr warranty, it's been a great tv in that time for anybody on the fence.

That was a different time though. All the TVs are costing 30% more now. X90J costs 1350 and there is no drastic improvement over X900. Was looking for something around 1000$. This seems like a better option than TCl or Hisense counterparts given their reliability.

The 65" X900h debuted at $1399, the 65" X90J debuted at $1599, are component shortages causing prices to go up or stay higher for longer? Yes, but prices haven't gone up 30%.

Wasn't my point though, it's just crazy to see what a difference a year can make. I could say the same thing about the stack of 2x4s I bought in oct 2020 to build my garage shelving (although that is normalizing.)

Because of the chip shortage they have to increase the price of the new line up, and to keep up with profit they can't sell old stock at low margin. This is across all the sectors. I was just in the market to buy a car and was not able to find a single car dealership which is not selling above the MSRP leave alone giving any kind of discount on them. This is not going to be solved any time soon though. Every TV that was in recommended list for under $1000 doesn't come in that bracket anymore
