I'm not sure about a refurbished printer. Some return from someone who tried and failed at 3D printing.

I picked up an open box printer from my "local" Microcenter a while back, but I did so specifically because I wanted a printer I could tinker with (leaving my Ender 5 for my normal use). After doing a couple minor things (PEI spring steel sheet and replacing the crappy springs with silicone replacements), a mainboard replacement (it now rocks a SKR 2 rev. B), and a BTT H2 hotend, it's been a beast. Wink Learned a good bit about how these printers work in the process. Wink

Funny, I did nearly the same thing. Have a 5 Pro, but it wasn't running too well. Picked up a $99 3 Pro from Microcenter (using the coupon deal) and it's printing better than my Pro 5 ever did out of the box!

I've got an Ender 5, and I've never liked the prints I got from it, and I think it all comes down to the extremely long bowden tube. My CR-10s, even before I converted it to DD, did *far* better prints, but its tube was 1/3 shorter (if not 1/2 shorter). One of these days I'm going to put the same DD kit on my Ender 5 and see how it does. Wink

Wasn't a similar Creality Ender 3 available at Microcenter for $100, and normally $200 new?

I bought one of these from comgrow on a similar deal awhile back. Love it. First 3d printer. Ended up getting my 2nd on the $99 microcenter pro deal last week. But if I knew these were going to be on sale now I would have waited for the V2.

Did anyone order this from Comgrow? I am seeing mixed reviews on reddit, just curious, I was thinking of pickup up a 2 pack.

I bought another one from this deal. Just waiting for it to come in. I bought one from them refurbished a few months ago on another deal and couldn't be happier with it.

The v2 is a good printer. It's meant to be the improved version of the old ender 3s. So you don't need to mod it. HOWEVER. The mods are far superior than this printer. But you can't go wrong with this printer for someone new to 3D printing. Or an ender 3 pro for much cheaper if u want to learn all about it over the months and months you will be tinkering

printers like this one require as much precision as possible to operate properly. the risk of the last person banging around the parts to get it together alone make refurb FDM printers a huge NOPE

I literally just looked at my girlfriend and said "This is hard to pass up but I REALLY don't need to pick up something else to learn"

She's pretty dope so she's not trying to sway me against it but...I really don't need another thing.
