Not the same, and for me the MX3 is better for larger hands. I don't have the MX2 but looks more comfortable.

And yes, I rage when a flagship productivity mouse that costs $89 with tax has a scrollwheel crappier than any mouse I can remember in the last 20 years

I wonder if you got a bum mouse as my MX Master 3 does not exhibit this behavior
When in infinite scroll try moving the mouse from left to right continuously. Do you feel the scroll wheel bump against the mouse over and over again? It stiffens in regular scroll, but is loose in infinite scroll. Regular scroll also doesn't register half my scrolls.
The side buttons (back/forward) on the MX 2 suck. Very small and awkwardly shaped if you have big fingers. MX 3 doesn't have that problem.
