There is a safety concern using too small of a wire. Don't exceed about 10A with this cord. Lights and many single power tools are fine. An electric pressure washer or big miter saw is asking too much.
Lighting is one of the best use cases for a thin cord like this.
At 500' with a 16AWG cord you shouldn't exceed about 1 amp to have less than a 5% voltage drop.
You can get a Kill-A-Watt meter to easily see how much current is being drawn.

Don't go over the 10a it's rated for and it has enough surface area not to break the 75c heat rating of the jacket. Although since it's an extension cord and not rated for permanent installation I definitely wouldn't run 10a through it 24/7 and you are looking at a 7-12 percent voltage drop depending on what amalgamation of metals they used in their wires, since I'm sure it's not Ofc. So if using something that's voltage dependant you could lose some power there... Think like a 10a circular saw trying to cut 1.5in plywood... But you typically wouldn't need 100ft of extension cord for such a thing.
All things considered it has its own place and purpose. Electric weed whacking is the first thing that comes to mind.
when I was at Sam's Club last, they had some 12 gauge 100 ft same brand yellow jacket for about 40 bucks. that's really cheap...

There should really be a disclaimer with these long thin cords when they sell them and when people post deals for them.
As someone who learned this the hard way running a leaf blower off a thinner extension cord, definitely agree. I found out when I started seeing arcing and burn marks where the blower was plugged to to the cord. Threw out both afterward out of caution.
This person has no idea what they are talking about. If you run an excessively high amp draw on too thin of a wire, the wire heats up and can melt the insulation.
